Hi all,
I am itching to confirm my suspensions about my SLW. Hoping a few folks can give me insight. I labeled the chicks in question in the pics. I tried to give my reason.
When you answer and you see some else pointing to the sex, please point it out. I am trying to learn. This is our first batch of chick.... so much fun. Thanks for the help.

Background (pics below)

Chick 1 GLW (pullet?) about 5-6wks old. She is my only GLW. I am 90% sure pullet, do you agree? Her comb & wattle pinkish-peach, smaller in relation to her size the #2 chick. I dont see pointed saddle feathers yet.

Chick 2 SLW (cockerel? ) about 4-5 wks, he feathered out slower then chick #3 (about a week behind). Can't miss the bright pink wattle & larger comb (for size). Not sure about the white marking on wing (see arrow), but is this a sign too? I think he is too young for saddle feathers.

Thank you again for helping me learn.

I believe your oldest one is a pullet, the others are still a bit young. This breed does tend to pink up really early so it can be confusing. Post more pics when they're all around 6/8 weeks, if you have cockerels it'll be more obvious by then. Oh and saddle feathers don't 'usually' start coming in until around 12 weeks :)

Your SLW # 2 is a cockerel, the other two are pullets

Thanks for your input.

Thanks for your help. I know they are still pretty young. Just trying to learn about all the little things. It's funny how the same breed can feather differently & develop differently. Will post more pics in a few weeks. Or wait till some one crows often.

I am on my first ever chicks but I also have a grown W hen so I'll play. Don't cull based on my idea. I think you have three pullets based on combs.
#2 could be a cockeral based in early wattles but not necessarily. I think you have to wait for greater growth, feathers and behaviour.

No one is going to freezer camp or being relocated till they crow or it becomes even more apparent. I am just trying to learn. Thanks for your two cents.

If you're trying to learn about all this stuff BYC is perfect! Go through threads about sexing different breeds and you'll pick it up pretty quick. And feel free to ask all the questions you want! No such thing as a silly question here :D
