Small air cells, day 13 - any ideas on how to increase?

I know I have time for them to go down more, but I have about a handful of eggs whose cells are probably more like the 7 day size. The rest of the eggs in the bator are perfect by the diagrams I have found on line. I am guessing these with the smaller cells have thicker shells? My humidity has run about 33 (doing the dry method). Most of the cells are right where I expect them but I want to give these others a chance, all show swimmers in them.

Any suggestions? Today I have the humidity at 27/28 hoping that helps them out a little but I don't want to affect the ones that are right where they should be too much either.

I thought I saw something about sanding the shells? But now I can't find it.

You've got to stick with the majority I'd think. If the majority is right on schedule then stick with what's working humidity wise.

I've read something about Marans eggs being thicker shells and I do believe somebody said they lightly sand them. Of course that's completely off from convention which we don't even wash the eggs only gently wipe the smudges.

Personally I'd let it ride as is. The air cell size has quite a range for good hatching. I've viewed a ton of candling pictures here on BYC and you'll see many with smaller than ideal air cells and very good hatches.

Some eggs in the hatch will be a little bit behind the others, they will simply hatch layer than the others.

Last time I set eggs I had about a dozen with small cells at day 14. By day 18 all but six had grown, not a lot but better. Out if those six only one managed to hatch. I was just hoping there was a way to help them out without affecting everyone else.

Guess I will leave everything as is and just hope they catch up to a point they can hatch safely.
