small caliber - kill zone?

I have to strongly disagree with everyone that has insisted on using fmj (full metal jacket) or solid ammo. Those rounds are not made for hunting let alone quick clean kills. The ammo you use for hunting or killing wildlife is made to expand enlarging the wound channel and causing more damage to vital organs resulting in quicker kills. No ammo manufacture offers a hunting or self defence round with a fmj projectile.

shoot it in the head for the least painful but right behind the shoulder for a bigger target!

I can personally attest to the efficiency and accuracy of a 12 gauge # 4 buckshot on a dog at 70 yards and most pellets were in the dog with a full choke.

That's pretty amazing since most loads do far less than that at about half the distance:

The table below shows the average results of firing at fifty and seventy-five yards at a full length human silhouette with typical standard (non-premium) rounds of #4, #1, 00, and 000 buck from cylinder bored, rifle sighted, riotgun. Note: most of the hits at 75 yards were very "marginal."
