Small chicken in the cold

Any news about Pebbles?
Any news about Pebbles?
She's gone. She' always always ALWAYS out at the time and most of the time with Red.. :( it hurts my feelings so bad. I thought I was doing a good thing by rescuing them and here I am letting them die. I've been in tears.

Awww, I’m so sorry. :hugs I know that guilty feeling too. You never know though, she could possibly be alright, but just lost or busy with something else. Keep looking and watching. Maybe she’ll turn up. :hugs

I’m sorry for your loss. All we can do is try our best and I’m sure you rescuing her was a wonderful part of her life. You gave her some extra time in her life with love and a good home for that time. Hang in there.

I have 2 LO roosters, one sleeps in the coop with the other hens, the other likes to sleep in a side covered area next to the coop, I am guessing he was respecting the other rooster's space. the rooster who would sleep in the side area would always take a couple of his hens with him. We have been having a predator come around at night, now he wants to sleep with the other birds.

You did your best for them. Their previous owners obviously didn’t care much for them. We all learn from trial and error. Hopefully Pebbles just went off to forage and she’ll be back soon.

I didn't really care for chickens at one point, I have always had them but they were not my main animal. Then I was homeschooling and learned how to hatch my own! Then beyond that, I learned there were more kinds of chickens then just RIR and Barred rocks, and when I learned about "blue chickens" that is when I went bananas for chickens.
