LOL... so, I may have just spent an hour sitting inside the coop, with the chickens on their roost... to uh, do a quality control check of the air in there. I'm going to throw that hygrometer out...
First of all... it was really comfortable in there... for me. The vents on the back were drawing fresh cool air in across the floor of the coop (below the sleeping chickens) and the air was moving through the soffit vents fairly consistently (above the sleeping chickens) drawing up and carrying out the excess humidity with it.
It did not feel humid to me, it was enough air movement to keep the air fresh and comfortable to breathe, and not like I was rebreathing humid exhaled air and yet not so much air movement that I was feeling like I was getting a chill on my naked arms.
So between their big fluffy feathered butts and their big fluffy feathered necks... these girls are going to be fine.
The only humidity that hygrometer is going to be monitoring is the humidity in the trash can.
