ok i wanted to build a lil indoor pen but makes the walls come up a lil bit higher that way they may not kick the stuff out so much and i am trying to figure out where i can purchase them their are some at the fair that is in town rite now for 15 bucks and theier pretty chickens to but i am not sure how healthy they are, there not owned by the fair but other people showing off thier chickens

Check to see if they are bantam "under 2 ft tall". And ask what kind they are. Check them over and look for little moving black spots "mites". Ask if they have records of the birds. Check to see if they been checked out. if everything checks out ok then its ok to buy her

mites? how often will they get mites?


and do you think it would be better to get a real youch chicken they have ones that arnt forsale that say to young on the tags... but i was told they may be much more friendly if they were young chicks

Young chicks are usually the best way to go. If your wanting eggs then go for at least 5 months old. Mites dont come around unless you dont take care of her. Give her a weekly check and see if there are little black or white bugs crawling on her. If you go for an adult hen you can tame her with little treats like banana's or strawberrys. My moms barred rock hens are still a bit scared of me but they are used to me picking them up now.

lightly dust it in between her feathers and it should get rid of them. Dont worry they wont go onto you.

sorry dont have aim. My old comp broke and I sold it. So I use my moms b/fs comp. He dpnt have messenger and I would get yelled at downloading it lol

dang but any ways is it ok if the pen inside isnt HUGE?

it has to be enough where she is able to walk around. maybe 4 foot long. 3 foot wide and 3 foot high.
