Small crack/hole in the small end of the egg?

One of our two hens has been laying eggs with a small hole in the pointed (narrow) end of the egg. Any ideas why, or what we should do about it?

She's also been laying less than usual (used to be one per day, now it's more like every other day) - don't know if that's related.

If it's hot where you live it could be the heat slowing her egg production cycle.

Can you post a pic? Maybe a toe nail poke?

Most birds lay a maximum amount when they are young and day light is at it's peak. Usually more than they will lay on a regular basis once fully mature... so that *may* be it.

ETA: what is the breed?
