Small egg/no yolk = egg yolk peritonitis?

Hi,
I recently found a tiny egg with no yolk in the nest box. Since then, my 4 yr old Buff Orpington has been getting a warm, swollen abdomen. Could these be related? I'm treating her with Tylan to see what happens, but I'm assuming her prognosis isn't going to be good.

That is known as a fart egg or wind egg. It happens in many young hens, and is n big deal. What part of her abdomen is swollen--the upper or lower part? When you feel of her breast bone, does she feel fat, normal, or underweight?

Lower part is swollen. She is a little underweight but we've been battling a chronic respiratory thing so she hasn't been eating like normal. She still eats now though...she went for their yogurt treat today.
