small eggs

Is it common for a chicken to lay very small eggs when they first start laying? I have RIR's and 1 BR and they are laying very small eggs. I got these breeds because I understood that they laid large eggs. Does anyone know anything about this with these breeds?

Yes, no worries, it's completely normal to lay small eggs at first. The eggs will be larger later.

Totally normal. They should get bigger with time.
