Small flies swarming my girls!

They are swarming my black chickens and making them miserable! They shake their heads and run around trying to get rid of them. I put DE on them but it doesn't seem to be helping. Is there anything else I can put on them?

There are 'fly bags' you can get at Tractor Supply or Home Depot...don't know WHAT I would do w/o them! Also, stall dry does help reduce the smell, thus reducing flies...

Vapona makes a product you hang in your coop called a 'No-Pest Strip'. Lasts 3 months, I've used one in my barn every summer and never had flies last. I think 'Black Flag' has a similar product and I've already bought one for my coop this year. It can be used in conjunction with DE and odor products like Stable Boy.
