Hi. I am new to Back Yard Chickens and to raising them. I started my flock May 2 2022 with 10 chicks: 4 golden laced Wyandotte, 2 easter egger, 2 black sex link, 2 buff orpington.

They were purchased as hens but I think I have 1/2 and 1/2...not sure what to do with extra roosters! I don't have enough hens for 5 roosters, I also don't have additional space to keep them separate until I get more hens.

What should I do with the extra boys?

Hello and welcome to Backyard Chickens :frow Is it possible that you could take them back because they were purchased as hens? If not, and If re-homing is not an option, I would suggest culling would be the only option ☹️ I would definitely try to exchange them first.

Hello, welcome to BYC. Where did you purchase them?
Are you certain that 5 of them are males? That's a big percentage, if they were bought as pullets.
You can post individual pictures for us to try and help you out.
If they are males you can try to find homes on Craigslist, Facebook poultry groups in your area, and by posting pictures on bulletin board at your local tractor supply or other farm store.
