Small Flock??? Really?

Chicken math stikes again, and it was my wife and daughters fault.

We went to a breeder yesterday to find an Ameraucana for my daughters Christmas present. Short story is we left with a Wheaton Ameraucana, a Blue Ameraucana, 2 BLRWs, a French Black Copper Maran, a Welsummer and a Lav Orpington that my wife wanted because it was purple.

Then we went to a local auction and bought some baby ducks, my wife wanted A baby duck. I had to buy 5, planning on taking some to anther sale on Tues. Nope, now she wants to keep all 5.

i increased my small flock of backyard chickens by 12 in one day.

Sorry. This post made me really laugh out loud. It's addicting. Here's hoping they're all hens.

My mom has a few hens as well, plus some Bantam Cochins. Well over 50 birds at our house now.
