Crowing
This is Pepper and she is 14 weeks old. She eats and drinks, looks healthy and walks around as usual. Last time I came into the coop and checked on my chickens was 2 days ago and she didn't have this. Anyone know what this is?

Thanks. I was thinking minor injury because she's pretty low on the pecking order as she was introduced to the flock and not in it originally.I am not sure exactly what it could be, but it shouldnt be a cause for concern. I would keep an eye on it though to see if it gets larger or otherwise has a change in appearance. Perhaps its a tiny minor injury.
That is probably what it is then. Keep us updated! Thanks. I was thinking minor injury because she's pretty low on the pecking order as she was introduced to the flock and not in it originally.
She's a cutie! While I'm not super experienced the fact that it took me a minute to even see the bump you were talking about would tell me its very minor. Could even be similar to how we get ingrown hairs sometimes maybe its a feather folicle or just a little nip or something! Id probably just keep an eye on it and hopefully it clears up on its own! This is Pepper and she is 14 weeks old. She eats and drinks, looks healthy and walks around as usual. I'll try that maybe. Do I need to isolate her and/or take her inside? You are very observant! Definitely keep an eye on it as it could be the start of a sinus infection. Applying a warm compress to the area wouldn't hurt.
I don't think there's any need to take her inside or keep her isolated at this point. If she's hard to catch you'll probably want to do the compresses at night after they've gone to roost.I'll try that maybe. Do I need to isolate her and/or take her inside?
