Small weird egg

I have an Americana who seems to always have softer shells so I have been adding oyster wheels to their food. Today she laid a VERY small egg and there was a yolk and what looked like curdled milk instead of white in the egg. She is about a year old. Any ideas?

These are know by the very scientific name of fart eggs. Tiny eggs, weirdly shaped eggs, and double-yolkers are all just little occasional blips in the hen's egg production system. They are very normal occurances, though it's never ideal to breed a hen who constantly lays unusual eggs. They occur often in young pullets just starting to lay, and also occur more frequently in hens as they get older. I personally think they are a lot of fun, and they shouldn't harm your hens. Its good that you started giving them more calcium, and your hen's egg shells should get stronger.

Just for fun, here's a picture of a 'wind egg' that I found today! It's actually an itty bitty duck egg! The ducks that I have laying right now are nearing 3-4 years of age, and I've gotten several of these the past few months as they age. Suprisingly, they still lay regularly.
The egg on the left is a normal duck egg, the egg in the middle is a bantam Brahma chicken egg, and the tiny egg is on the right!
