Smaller eggs?

You got me curious so I grabbed two of the latest eggs (laid between the 30th and 1st) and the two small eggs.

That is within normal limits for most quail eggs. I mainly have experience with coturnix that can be between 7-15g for colors and up to 20g+/- for jumbos but fairly sure bobs, valley, etc have generally smaller than coturnix eggs

Good to know. I think I am going to stick with the bigger eggs for hatching.

You are correct, Cot's in general lay bigger eggs than the new world quail do, the exception to that are Mountain quail, they are, in general, a larger bird than Cot's and other quail, such as Bob's, Blues, Valleys, etc. and will lay a bigger egg or the same size as Jumbo Cot's.
