Smallest Silkie lays first beautiful EGG!!!!

It's a HAPPY day here since Nutmeg, the smallest and most picked-on of our five silkies laid the first egg! She was chatting away this morning looking for the perfect place in the coop and I knew something was up. I walked away to tend to the garden, came back and ta-da, a beautiful egg. A few hours later, another egg appeared in the mulch, by the side of the house. Someone else must have gotten the idea!

So, two eggs so far from my five silkies who are 5 months and 3 days old today!
Here they are the day the arrived...

So ends our EGG-citing day!!!!

Awwww! They are beautiful!!

My two silkie hens are 6 months old and still no eggs! I have been hearing some cackling though

Thanks! We love our girls, especially since egg#3 appeared today! I have to say - I noticed her Squatting first when I reached down to pet her and she was the first. Two of the others are squatting too which I think must be the three eggs so hang in there, especially if your girls do the "duck" when you reach for them.

I pray everyone and their animals get through this storm safe!
