Smartest breed of chicken

I do not know how to quantify smarts, especially with animals that specialize on different activities. I do not know how one could even objectively compare chickens. We need to be looking things up for that.
You're right. I think the study that said dogs had comparable mental abilities to humans of 2-2.5 years did that by observing the behavior of the dogs. The rough IQ approximation isn't very meaningful, because of how different dogs are from humans.

Others, even those from Missouri, need to acknowledge same.
Hey wow...I just happen to be from Missouri and I happened to have commented and liked on this thread.... hmmm wonder if this means me? :idunno

I’ve checked around and it turns out I ‘need’ to do nothing more than wait around to die... every thing else is just for amusement.

You deny your best self in favor of your worst self... to the point that you will step over a gentlemanly conversation with CarpCharacin, to snipe at me, because you saw I liked comments, and was following the conversation.

I get it... I rubbed you wrong with my Carl the chess playing rooster post... you were looking to engage in a contest with some strangers on the internet because they expressed an opinion that was different than your own... and ole Carl kinda obsconded with the thunder on that front.

Are you familiar with the term ‘Right Fighting’ or ‘Right Fighter’? It’s new to me, I literally just became aware of the term this week, but have known the behavior for years and years... mostly from observing conflict-centric behavior on hobby and technical/professional forums like this.

You’ve got a lot to share, I applaud that... maybe just do so in a way that builds toward your best self, rather than indulging in conflicts that work toward anything less.

Hang in there, I’m rooting for you... I’m a flawed person the same as everyone, but I hope you have it in your heart to root for me too... after all you and I might be smarter than our chickens... but they’re not the ones typing at each other on the internet.

Now I am confused again :( How do I know if a breed is a "landrace" breed?
A landrace breed is a breed that is unique to a given geographical area, has identifiable characteristics, is adapted to the local environment, is not a product of breeding programs, isn't maintained as a standardized breed, and the members of the breed are genetically related, but still with a bit of genetic diversity.

Just as CarpCharacin said... but It might help to think of it like this:

Mutts left to their own will eventually “sift” out genetically speaking into the most common, most dominant traits...

Sometimes... maybe most times ...historically speaking... that population of mutts sifts into nothing much worth paying attention to...

But every now and again genetic factors are assembled in special ways... one of which is known as “the founder effect” (where a few founding individuals impact many generations to come genetically), which results in a base population that is genetically special...

So folks take notice of the special qualities and they start selecting for those special traits... and this gets recognized as a “land race”
