Smell control?

Well, if 35 acres gets the same zoning that seems silly that it would allow only 15 chickens. Here AR or Ag/Res is broken into a few categories. AR-1 for instance has stricter limits and is for people with an acre or under only allowing 5 birds, 2 livestock animals per acre...AR an over an acre - no limit. I'd call zoning and talk to them personally.. don't say anything about the neighbor, just want to know what the property is zoned for.

They do the zoning like that to keep smell down, I guess. I never really thought about it, because our realtor said it wasn't an issue and a number of our neighbors have 3 or 4 horses. They are only supposed to have 1. One herd animal? Some of it is for land conservation too. The eastern plains is pretty dry most of the time and the grass is real sparse. So 1 horse can actually graze 8 acres down to nothing over the summer.

I'll try some of the ideas. Thanks
