Smell in bator after hatch starts?

Each time do you fumigate it with clorox water
and yes those styrofoam incubators do take on a smell
but idf you do as one lady on here says use clorox water and let dry out for a couple days then run it empty it shouldd be okay
if the eggs are hatching you will just have to put up with the smell

Hey how is it going? Yes they do have a smell when they hatch or start to hatch. But it is ok,don`t take any of them out ,they can stay in for at least 48 hrs. I had to do that the last time. And they got along just fine.As long as they are pipping and you know thy are alive, let things be.If you do open the bator, more chance of them dying on you.I learned the hard way.But now I just keep them watched and they will come out eventually. There might be soem that don`t.But leave the bator top on .

I had to take the 4 that hatched out. They kept putting their heads on the metal heating pipe that runs around the top and one nearly got stuck. I left them for awhile but finally couldn’t take it after it got its head stuck. It gets really hot to the touch and I’ve burned myself on it before. I had to open it but I misted the bator and eggs real good right as I close it. Since opening it 4 have hatched perfectly. One literally jumped out of its shell. I know its a huge no no but I felt I had no choice. I would hate to see a newborn chicken fried duck.

I found the smell, when I grabbed the 4 out I noticed one had pipped yesterday and had no progress since. The opening seemed a bit dark and different from the others. Sure enough it died. It smelled so bad. I know the wet dog smell but this smelled like death.

RIP little ducky
