Ok, with all the rain and stuff, the pens (chicken and duck) are starting to smell and staying muddy. I have read over and over post on lime and now even more confused than ever. Do I use Domimite or Hydrated lime.

Please let me know.

This is what I use and I get it from Lowe's.........

Lime helps to absorb odors (especially in the winter where humidity is high and chickens are staying inside). You just sprinkle it around.....if you still smell the 'amonia' smell, you sprinkle more around. I've learned that it's not a science.......you just do what you can do and they'll get through it. But the lime does help in the winter when you're less apt to clean out the bedding and they're staying inside the coop 24/7.
