Help. My coop smells. I wash it every week. I have an Omlet Eglu Its Wednesday. I coop clean on Saturdays. But I scrub it! I use DE and a poop pad

I have an Omlet Eglu Cube for 4 hens and change out the slide out poop board shavings once a week. The chickens only are in the coop to sleep. And it does not smell. So I'm very curious about your situation.
How many chickens do you have? Are you keeping your chickens in the coop during the day? Also during the day you can try leaving the big 'backdoor' open. I always have mine off during the day when their 'front' flip door is open.

Frankly IMHO those things are about big enough for 2 standard sized birds or maybe 3 small ones. And please stop using DE around birds, it causes all kinds of respiratory issues.

A general rule of thumb with any prefab kit coop is to take the suggested number of birds it holds and divide it by half. That gives you the actual number of healthy birds it will hold.

If you have the appropriate # of chickens in there (not more than 4 IMO), try switching to Sweet PDZ in the poop tray. Do a deep clean (may need to take it apart), and let it dry in the sun. PDZ makes it easy to scoop poop each day and dries out the droppings so they don’t smell. I don’t recommend using a poop pad - total waste of money, and you can’t keep it clean - has to be changed/thrown away. I would bet this is the source of the constant stink.
