Smelly Eggs? Funny Taste? Common or Not?

When my girls first started laying, their eggs tasted a little grassy, but that disappeared pretty fast (or we got used to it). Still, superior flavor.

I fed some true free range eggs to my friends and they said they tasted too eggy???????

My father and I love our fresh daily laid eggs. As does our friends & neighbors. The only one that I found won't eat our eggs is my sisters family. They won't eat them because we have a ROO. Enough said?

You will never look at a store bought egg the same after one from your own chickens....SO MUCH BETTER.

Chickens really make their own keep!

Store bought eggs have a very sulfur taste to me. I much prefer my fresh organic free range eggs. I was not much of a egg person till I tasted fresh farm ones. I think most people don't know how to react to because they are just so use to store bought.

Hi,

I, also, have never thought that my eggs taste "funny" or "strange" or have any bad odors. The only difference I can notice is that they are BETTER! I have sold them and have repeat customers and give them to my neighbors, and they LOVE them. Fresh eggs from your own hens are the best!

Don't worry about what that woman said. As another poster mentioned, she is just jealous!

Thanks you guys. Thanks alot!!! Now I'm more anxious than ever for my pullets to start laying...They are only about 12 weeks old!!!

I really can't wait though. I love these chickens, eggs or not. People just don't get it. I'm sick of hearing people say chickens are dirty, chickens carry disease, fresh eggs aren't safe cause they aren't pasturized. The should all just STICK IT!

I've never heard people i know talk like chickens this way..... my grandad had chickens and he taght me how to keep them.... no thats its hard they just need to be clean, feed and watered and have lots of greenary to go at !

Quick story:
New someone that use to give me, Fresh eggs, Chicken he butchered, Home made sausage, made with meat from his livestock,
He also raised Sheep, BEST TASTING Meat Ever! (the stuff in the stores where incomparable!)

Yes He Gave me all this. which was a blessing, as I was newly married with a little one and no MONEY!

Scott said I was the only one that would accept these gifts.
Everyone else (friends) where to squeamish to eat it.

(OK I'm originally from Canada and it comes out at times ...lol)

Scott lives in Ontario and I'm down in Pennsylvania now.

Just reap the benefits you are getting for yourself and family and let those that can not appreciate the wholesome Food, your able to provide. SUFFER! ..LOL
