I have 9 eggs, all with live chicks inside that are taking their sweet time hatching

Anyhow, the incubator is starting to smell from the first 4 eggs that hatched. I took out the old shells, but the smell is still there...what should i do? Should i be worried?

Depending on the stage of the egg that are already in there, you could clean it. As long as they aren't in their last 3 days of hatching where humidity has to be high, then I should think it would be ok to pop them out of the bator, quick clean, then pop them immediately back in. That's what I would do, as I'd be scared the bacteria could cause problems. I hope someone else helps with this concern, I'm not sure! lol!

They are definitely in the last 3 days. They started hatching on monday morning and Ive been getting slow hatches over the last 3 days. I ahve 2 pipped right now and 7 more that Im not sure of yet.

Once they start hatching I noticed from my last hatch a few days ago, that it will smell. Just the way it is. But I didn't see any bad effect on the others.
