Smokers And Past Smokers- I have some questions for a project.

1. What age were you when you started smoking? - 19 years old
2. What age are you now? - 59 years old
3. How has smoking effected you medically? Hopefully not at all, but the effects are sometimes insidious.
4. How many cigarettes/packs do you smoke a day, on average? - I quit smoking at age 35 and was smoking 2 packs per day at the time.
5. Have you ever tried to quit? - Yes, one time...and I DID IT!!
6. What brand do you smoke? - Last smoked KENT 100's
7. How has it effected people around you? - Not at all back then, but today I won't let a smoker in my house and I won't go in their house or car while they smoke.
8. Do you regret smoking? If not, BE HONEST. Yes!! I always have in the back of my mind that COPD or lung cancer will crop up somewhere down the line due to my smoking.

My mom smoked with all 4 of us and I'm the only one that ended up smoking so I dont really think thats true.

In answer to your questions-- 1) 15 2) 53 3) hasnt so far 4) about 1 pack a day-sometimes they burn out more than I smoke them. 5) many times-but its funny when I found out I was pregnant I quit right away but started after she was born (never smoked around her though) 6) Kool Milds 7) I've always been considerate of people around me-even in my own house-if they dont smoke I go outside & wont smoke in the car-to this day I will not smoke in front of my Dad-he caught me when I was 15 and new he didnt like it (even though he smoked until 15yrs ago) Might be a therapy thing-lol!!! 8) I do regret it-I think it shows your age more-lines in your face-that kinda thing. Hope this helped!!!!

1. What age were you when you started smoking? 33....yeah I know!

2. What age are you now?53

3. How has smoking effected you medically? Not yet.

4. How many cigarettes/packs do you smoke a day, on average?1/ - 1 1/2 packs a day. Depends on stress and lately it's high

5. Have you ever tried to quit? Yes smoked for 3 quit for 2 1/2 and had 3 major stokes and a brain tumor (no not from smoking), worked out for 45 minutes - 2 hours a day and got sick. Had brain surgery and said I needed a cigarette and a drink. Never took up drinking, but 2 years after that I was back to smoking

6. What brand do you smoke? Marlboro Lights

7. How has it effected people around you? Except for them bugging me? I never smoke indoors and never in my cars, so if they smell it they need to back off.

8. Do you regret smoking? If not, BE HONEST......Hated being around smoke and then tried one. First hand isn't as smelly as second. I would get sick and cough when I was around 2nd hand, not now. Like I said, stress. I'd like to quit, but not now and not when anyone bugs me about it.

My mom was 16 when she had me, 20 when she had my first brother. She started smoking when she was 21. Smoking or the smell bothered her when she was pregnant, so she didn't smoke for any of us.
Four of us became smokers. I was the late bloomer. One of my sisters never put one in her mouth and her husband smoked outside. She died of breast cancer 4 years ago. None of her kids smoke although 2 are younger, 13 and 10.

I have 6 kids of my own. My oldest son smokes, none of the others have ever even tried a cigarette and hate them. All SILs are forced to quit when they first meet my girls. They are way to controlling.

My husband died recently. Nothing to do with his smoking (Agent Orange) As fae as I know all of his kids smoke.

I smoked from the age of 14 to my mid 30's , the effect it had on me, my asthma has got worse because of it. i have been smoke free for 5 years now and don't miss it at all, infact will not but a car from a former smoker.... i asked my nieghbour to stop bringing her kids over due to the fact that her 3 and 6 year old reaked of smoke all of the time , this woman is pregnant and smokes like a chimney, i wish they would have the same picture campagne like they do in canada for the states , it would stop a lot from smoking. biggest turn off of smokers....the smell

8. Do you regret smoking? Yes. I had actually quit when I was 16, but started up again to be with the "cool" kids at school. Spent a lot of my life sick because of it but refused to quit. Finally did and feel sooooooooooooo much better. Can't even stand the smell of smoke anymore.
