sn0wwhite's Wichita Coop for the Twin Cities

Thanks, Jen!
We worked 10 hours today.
We still have quite a bit to do, but my neighbor saw a fox, and our dog was going nuts last night so I was very worried about them. The run door needs to be done and the pop door and roof finished are the big items but then also a lot of trim work, roosts, nest box divider, windows, vent holes,.... Basically lots left to do, but they are safer tonight than last night!

Screen door in. Still needs handle and latch though.

In other news, since we were working the chickens had to go to bed in their old coop then I moved them. They wanted to go in the new coop and so they must not hate it after all.

Thanks, aart and Paul! I am going to have to rethink the screen door latch though. In the daylight now I can see that my anticipated gap is going to be too big for my barrel lock.

I'm going to put a trim piece behind there to act as a stop and to hide/minimize the gap but I could use suggestions for what to do for a latch/lock.

Maybe a dumpster latch like this? "
