I thought you could not carry water bottles because of the "terrorist" package and you have to buy the water that was on the plane.

Funny you can bring your food on plane to foreign countries however you could not bring any food back to the US or they will be taken by the inspectors. What gives?

you're right I forgot about that! I have had to throw away my water and lotion the last few times I flew! Me and my great advice lol!

On that flight to Santiago the flight attendants had to apologize to me saying that they knew Customs would not let the fennel salami into the country - I gave the rest of it to them (they in turn gave me some airline bottles of Gran Mariner.
Sure enough Customs worked me over pretty good...

I was a Flight Attendant... Yeah, you cant have the water and liquids.. but you can buy something after you pass security in the AP.. bit cheaper then on the plane. FYI- Dont ask for anything with hot water in it! Cofee, Tea, ect... the only hot water on the plane comes from completely untreated water that is pumped on from whatever airport its needed at.. its not drinking water! Not many of the Fa's will ever drink it.
Some Fa's will want to comp you if your nice enough.. but often its more about the other passengers not hearing, and not many places on a plane where a whisper would be quiet enough.. you're not allowed in the galley either.. So try passing a folded up note instead and your more likely to get special treatment. I had a passenger once whose friend had been domoted to coach because of over-booking.. and it was such a short flight that only first class was supposed to get beverage service... but he handed me a note about it and how frazzled they were, along with a pretty please.. so I brought that customer a couple comp minis with a cup and a coke stuffed in a sick bag... so no one in coach knew it was a drink LOL.. but comping for un-authorized reasons meant I had to fudge my math a little on the beverage report..

BUT... I didn't meet many ground agents nice enough to help *anyone* out... no matter how nice you were.. it must be one heck of a bad job for them to all be so crabby...
