vinegar is not a bad idea. ACV tomorrow.

Vinegar, no lime or citrus juice!
Another option would be a high dose of Niacin or Vitamin C - both acids!
But really: Just a shot in the dark!

The amount of vinegar needed to dissolve or even weaken a shell would be immense and take days or weeks. I think it would be a real exercise in futility. The only thing I have had luck dissolving shell with (used to do a bit of shell carving) is muriatic acid, and you don’t want to be putting that inside a duck.

i liked your idea of pushing it back up. Mabye get cooking oil into her and try again

I had a peacock swallow a small ball once, and to get it out I massaged it back up and out. That is what I would try to do.

If your going to have to deal with it yourself I would give some veggie or olive oil or some cod liver oil and then try to get it up or down.

I would be very careful using oil because if any get inhaled accidentally it can cause lipoid pneumonia, which would be very serious.

Trying to get it up sounds the best way seems if it was to go further down there would be more complications.

Well, grabbed hold of the duck again and there is nothing there. My husband found our puppy chewing on a snail that was laying on the lawn. Maybe all our pushing last night helped her to cough it up? She isn't eating the feed but she gobbled up a big earthworm so... all's well that ends well so far.
