Snails!

I've been keeping an eye on my betta and snail and so far they seem to be doing ok. The betta has been curious, but he mostly stays at the top and the snail at the bottom. He was being nosy yesterday and I saw him pick on the snail once today, but it seemed more that he just nosed the snail rather than nipped it. There was no damage or anything that I can see.

This particular snail is very small, but when it gets bigger I will move both the fish and the snail into a larger tank, or I will just take the snail out all together and put him in a separate tank..

Have fun with him/her (by the way it's easy to tell if you have a male or female - the applesnail site I gave you tells you how).

Applesnails are a hoot when they climb to the top of the tank and then "parachute" back to the bottom. They really are fascinating to watch.

They do make a mess with their poo so you need to keep a good filter on the tank and keep the water clean for them and any other fish in the tank.
