SNAKE IDENTIFICATION!

I don't have a picture and I have no clue about snakes! We are located in florida if that helps
the snake was black was white belly and some brown not perfect trianglish figures on the snakes back It was about 4 feet long or 3 1/2 feet it was sitting in the corner I sprayed it with water and it went away the chickens got close but he didnt attack them It was also about an inch wide please help
 
black racer are terrified of chickens, they dont have any defense or method of killing, even though their name means constriction they are not constrictors like rat snakes, so they are big time spooks and very fast and take off from anything that is bigger than a sparrow.

Probably just a rat snake. Google black rat snake; there are color variations. These snakes are known for eating poisonous snakes, and chicken eggs. Good to have around the barn for rodents.
