There is a snake somewhere in my house... i ran to the store and my 12 year old duaghter called me saying there is a snake in her bathroom... I told her to block the bathroom door so it couldn't geyt out but she didn't do it and know we can't find the snake... think its a king snake... I hope it went out the way it came in.... hubby is at work... I hope he comes home before it decides to comes back out or i will have to catch it...

Ok that would have me freaking out. Hope it's not a poisonous snake. If you have a dog bring it in and see if it will find it. I love my dogs but they do serve a purpose and one is protecting the family. I'd hate for a snake to tangle with one of my dogs but if that meant the snake got taken care of then my dog has done it's job.

It's this darn drought/heat wave we're in. They've coming in for cooler temps and water. I almost stepped on a ribbon snake going out my front door last week. Told hubby it was worth every penny replacing that door, because the old one had an opening under it big enough for that snake to have made it in the house. Makes me shudder just to think about it!

LOVE King snakes! But not IN my house.

King snakes EAT rattle snakes, so that's a great thing, but my house is off limits to all wildlife.

Last night, my husband was standing on the porch seeing if the new washing machine was doing whatever it was supposed to not do. He heard a weird noise and looked beside him. Right there, on top of the shelf (3 feet off the ground) was a big ol' Bullsnake. He backed away, knocked on the wall, I came out and stood behind him, he gestures toward the washing machine. I stare and think "Okay, it's not vibrating, yeah, so?" Then I see the snake and I think I ripped my husband's arm off. The snake eventually slid off the shelf, and he was able to touch ground with the back end still coiled on the top shelf. Just slid away, quiet as could be. My husband said the snake was there looking for eggs. He was right next to the plastic bucket that three hens lay in. Today, there was a low egg turnout in the coop, and the dummy egg (a real one, just really old, and drawn on with blue Sharpie marker) was gone.

Hope you find your new friend before he finds you!!!!

chixie, I know the feeling. Many years ago we had a rattlesnake in the bathroom at 2 AM. Curled up on the counter as tho he owned the place. DS#2 started into the room and turned on the light. Backed out and came to my room whispering "Mom, there's a snake in the bathroom" DS#1 (a gangly teenager) knocked it off the counter with a frog gig, jumped up on the counter and stabbed it with the gig. Got it out of the house. Next day, we measured it. 46" as I recall. I spent the rest of the night (morning?) scrubbing the bathroom! For years the bathroom light was left on and the door open so we could see into the room before steppin in! Still creeps me out when I think of it.

this is the first one I have ever had in this mobile home... I used to live in a mobile home before this one(1979 year model ) that always had snakes getting in... one night I got up to use the restroom and i saw what looked like a belt hanging out of my shower( i just woke up) then in dawned on my I had no belt that looked like that and why would a belt be hanging out of my shower... I called for hubby.. it was a copper head... I looked every where for te snake... I guess he left
