Snake in my yard near my chicks

I'm no expert but that looks like a native Pakistani snake Spalerosophis diadema or Royal/diadem snake.

I don’t think it could have eating my chicks but it could have bitten them causing them to get hurt.
My biggest concern is what was the species and was it venomous or not.
Yes i can understand that. Sometimes if the head is ❤ shaped they have poison sacks, but that is not true for all species. Glad your kitty saved the day. :celebrate

A snake of that size is most likely looking for eggs or chicks to eat. An adult chicken shouldn't suffer too badly from a snake bite from a snake of that size unless it is venomous.

Venomous snakes have cat eyes with slits. While non-venomous have round pupils. The exception to that rule is the coral snake that lives in the US. Since this one has already died you could check. But be very careful about handling the head, you don't want to stab yourself on a venom laced fang by accident... O_O

Edited to say.. you can check the eyes if it still has a head! I can't tell by the pics if it does lol vicious kitty
