Snake in quail brooder

I went to check on my 4 week old quail,when I open the lid I saw about a
4-5 foot snake!! after catching my breath I look in again and it had swallowed 2 of my baby quails.

(i'm very nervie around snakes)I grabed needle nose pliers got it by the head,took it out and removed his quail eating head. Any advice in keeping snakes away???

Not sure but I'd make a belt out of that 1. I love tanning snake hides.

I think it was an Oak snake. Sorry to all yall snake lovers,The only good snake around my place is a dead one ! I almost screamed like a girl when I saw that one(probably would've if I gould have screamed and breathed at the same time).

aw, don't feel bad, I pretty much kill all the ones I see too, unless they are garder snakes. And those guys would be lunch if they tried to get in my jumbo pen.. (ummmmmmmmm bigger worm?)
