We have a big black snake in our chicken coop. DW wont go in there. She hates snakes.

She said if the snakes were pink with sparkly bows and had smiles with batty eyelashes, she would re-consider.

I just say keep a snake in the coop.It gets rid of mice and it might eat a couple-three eggs per day, but that's natures tax.

Whats your opinion. I don't have small chickens, so I don't fear for their lives. The snake has been in there for two months now.No chickens deaths from snake.

I'm on your side. Let a snake or two hang around, and keep the rodents away from the coop. We recently found a 4' snake skin in the yard, and I'm thrilled! A few eggs taken is the price you pay...better than mice. :)
