SNAKE!!!!

Went to feed the all the animals this morning and opened the door to the chicken feed (which is safe & secure) and spotted a very large snake across the way. It was spooky still for a few seconds then slithered under a stack of old feed sacks. I nearly crawled right out of my skin...no pun intended! We live on a large farm and there's always creepy and often dead things lying around but I can't stand a snake...or a mouse/rat for that matter! I noticed the girls weren't laying as many eggs lately. Buying some porcelain eggs soon! Isn't there some sort of snake repellant I can buy. I am not into egg gourds. I have no intention of support the snakes eating habits or encouraging it them to stick around. I want them gone! Sorry to you snake lovers!

There is a thread on here where they were catching snakes in minnow traps .that were baited with an egg. Also you can leave golf balls in the nest if they are eating eggs. They will swallow it but wont be able to pass it and will die.

Golf balls are in the pen!! Can't wait to see what happens. I haven't checked this morning but I'm about to! Wish me luck! I can't stand a snake!!

You know this only works if they are eating eggs. They may be in there eating mice.

Unless I have an egg bandit, it's the snake. The number of eggs I'm getting has gone down significantly.
