Hey, dont let this thread die! Here's a funny snake story for ya'll.
One day, I was out near the chicken coop and I hear a rattle like sound. Well, my mom was with me and my first impulse is to grab the snake. But my mom runs inside screaming "It's a rattlesnake!" Dad comes out in boxers and a shirt and a shotgun and points it at the snake. But then he realizes that it is just a harmless bullsnake. He edges up to it and gets it to crawl into a bucket. Then we released into a safer spot in the woods. I have caught grass snakes, bull snakes, and garder snakes by hand. I even caught a water moccasin by hand. Only because he had just eaten a mouse and because I didn't know that he was a Water Moccasin. Lol.

When my son was 7 he wanted a snake. We told him that if he could care for a different pet for a year then he could have a snake. He chose to get a rabbit and he cared for it so well that I knew I'd better start reading about snakes. Ten years later, we still have that boa and I am happy to care for him while my son is at college. I still have rabbits, too, but mostly because the snake needs to eat. He also eats chickens.

Oh, I am so sorry. That is horrible. That must be awful to know... that your hen is dying, I mean. I am sorry that you're dealing with that.

Thanks She's much better now She flew over a 8 foot fence and was in the big pen I'm so proud of my baby
