So far this year I have caught 6 rat snakes and 4 chicken snakes. Last week went in the barn and mice were all over the place as well as a 3' rat snake. I left him there for a day or so and still have mice but no snake. He's somewhere in the area. I have also seen several 12" rat snakes so there has been a hatching around the barn. So far there have been no rattlers or copperheads seen this year. I have no problem with snakes but my wife is a different matter. She has to feed the animals since I went back to work full time and if she sees a snake that is it for her. The animals will not get fed till I get home in the evening.
