SNAKES!!!! LOOK WHAT WE CAUGHT!!!!! PS. It's not dead!!!!

One day after my roo was killed by a black snake!!!!! DH and I was checking on our new rooster and this is what was crawling through the fence.

Two days in a row!!!! How do I get rid of these things!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It sucks so much when People who hate snakes find them all over.

I LOVE snakes with all my heart and there are none here. Dang it. Please dont kill them. I know, it wont help, but atleast I asked.

WOW!!! I would be so freaked out!!!! Did you kill this one or is your hubby holding it alive?? I have no idea how to get rid of snakes, but I sure would be finding out and soon!!!

YIKES. All my encounters with snakes usually involve me spotting them, screaming (it's a war cry, really!), them slithering off, and then me trying to "deal" with them: "Eat all the voles, moles, mice, and rats you want -just STAY AWAY from me and my animals!!!" Not sure how effective it is though.

I've heard rumors of things that are supposed to repel insects and other small animals (such as creating a "barrier" around the perimeter with ground cayenne pepper), but I don't know if there's anything that actually works on snakes. I'm hoping some wise person will chime in here, since I'm interested too!

I hope I dont see any of those anytime soon. But I know I will. We usually get 10 or more each summer. Thats only thing I hate about warm weather...well that and hurricanes.

That thing is huge. Your DH is a brave, brave man, lol! As are you...I wouldn't have been able to stand close enough to the darn thing to even get a picture. Eek!

I think it would be best to "rehome" him... ie. Drive him out someplace far and let him go!
I caught a king snake in my backyard last weekend and did that with him. He has every right to live, but not in MY backyard!!!
It freaked my DH out because I saw him in the grass and went running over there and grabbed him. But, it's no biggie to me. I used to catch snakes for the neighbor when I was growing up- $10 a piece!

PS I don't know about those snakes, but I know some snakes live in pairs. I wouldn't be surprised if that one was the other ones mate.
