Snakes make a hen broody?

Few days ago I found a rat snake in one of the three nest boxes. After getting my wife to remove it, I've noticed that my Jenga doesn't want to leave a nest box with eggs in it. Prior to the snake, this was not an issue. Just curious.

Just a guess, but I think your hen is afraid that a snake might return and eat eggs again.
