Snakes, mice and other small predators

If I put 1/2 inch hardware cloth under, over and around my run and coop as well as every imaginable opening will that be able to keep out snakes and mice??

1/4 inch would be better, young mice are tiny... and adventurous.

I have 1/4 inch and still accidentally carried in a pine snake once.

i'd post pictures but can't find them.

I have 2 cats that keeps stuff awhay from my coop like mice, rats, other cats. to get a barn cat that won"t kill you chickens or hurt them is to raise your cat by the chickens when there a kittien. my family has 2 cats what help use with keeping thing awhay from are coop.

I have an indoor cat, but the neighbors have several that "visit" on a regular basis...perhaps they would be of help. Thanks!

Make shure that when your cat brings you back the dead mouse or what ever to give it a treat and to praise it !!!!!!!

Some of these critter are active when cats are not.

My coop is 12*28*8 and completely covered I have vinyl flooring in one inch squares against compacted ground.
