Anyone have any problems snakes? Once up and running last thing I need for her to find is a snake in the coop.

No problems with snakes in the coop, but ours is completely enclosed with 1/4 and 1/2 " hardware cloth. I have found little tiny baby snakes in the yard and the chickens love to eat them as treats!

Lay netting around the perimeter of the chicken area. Snakes will be immobilized by this as they can't crawl backwards as I am to understand. I have no problems with snakes, my girls snack on them

we take the snakes with the territory, we have copper heads so we allow our black snakes to have some duck and chicken eggs so they'll keep the rats, mice and copper heads down. They come in the coop but are not dangerous so I just move them out or my husband does.

I love my snakes (mostly black rat and some garter). Been that way all my life and apparently it's not going to change. It makes me ill when people run over them on the road on purpose so I pick them up and bring them home to my property. Poisonous ones get picked up and relocated to the back or our mountainous property so they can stay out of harms way. As yet I've not had any problem with them in the coop, though they do cruise through the run occasionally. Black snakes actually den under my garage. Strangely, the chickens pay them absolutely no mind no matter what they're doing. I figure they keep mice and rats down and (even if they were to eat a few eggs now and then) they're absolutely worth it.
