Sneak Attack

So sorry for your loss. A rooster can be had too. It's the risk you take free ranging. You will loose a bird/birds to a predator sooner or later. My best guess would be a fox or coyote. Those are what I have seen more during the day but at night as well. It's very likely the predator has been lurking looking for an opportunity and found one. I'm sure it will be back. Hopefully you will get it on your camera and then can form a plan. I have trapped predators that have killed any of my birds in the past and have eliminated them. Now I have electric wires around my coops and pens, concrete under the gates and good heavy duty netting covering the pens, all due to losses from predators in the past. I used to see a lot of predators here mostly at night but they know the electric wires are there and keep their distance. Once they make contact with the electric wire, they don't test it again. I love my cameras. Good luck...
