Sneaking chicks under broody

My Delaware weren't great layers either.

Yeah with that breed let her get closer to the normal setting time before giving chicks.

My super broody is a bantam cochin. :love

Hello..I have a Silkie Hen that raised her Silkie Chicks till they were almost 6 weeks and I got my order from the hatchery of 11 Speckled Sussex Chicks. The Chicks were peeping so much I brought in the Silkie Hen and she adopted those babies..
It really depends on the Hen. It will either work or it won't..:frow

Silkies will adopt a kitten, but not all birds are equally stupid.

So phase one, get broody Delaware to adopt silkie, phase 2 wait for silkie to grow up and become broody, phase 3 bring home kitten
