My duck was due to hatch her first clutch on Sunday and I’m confident that none are going to hatch. I called tsc and they got some ducklings in so I’m going to pick up a couple (in case she doesn’t accept them I want them to each have a friend). BUT are there any tricks to getting them to accept baby’s placed under them? She has honestly been a VERY attentive momma to her nest but I think she just had too many eggs under her. I’d try to candle them and remove quitters but then I’d come back and there were more developing eggs in there (they were getting lost in the straw and then she was addin them back to her nest I later realized). If she doesn’t accept them I will pop them in the brooder and ruin her nest but I want to give her a chance.

Any tricks?
