Sneaky Pekin

This is what happened:

I had an opportunity to check her clutch and there were only four eggs. She previously had ten. Three were intact and one was partially opened. When I picked it up, blood leaked out and I knew something was very wrong. I considered leaving it but I didn’t think there was any way it would survive because it’s yolk was hanging partially out. I assumed either the other ducks or the chickens ate the other eggs because there is no trace of them. This one honestly looked pecked. When I carried it inside, it sort of rushed out of the broken shell like it was being born with fluid and yolk and blood. I held it in my hand and it took about four breaths.
