Hi, I have ordered Tylan 50 for my chickens, it started with one bird sneezing and now several are sneezing. Am I able to add this to their water or do I have to give it orally with a syringe to each bird?

Where did you order it from?

Tylan 50 needs to be given orally (PO) at 0.25 ml per pound of bodyweight 4 times a day, or 0.33 ml per pound three times a day.

While antibiotics can help reduce clinical symptoms of a respiratory disease's, it won't cure the bird of the disease, and for respiratory diseases such as MG, or Coryza, the birds will remain carriers for life, and may show symptoms again, most often in winter when the birds are enclosed in a small area. After prolonged use of the antibiotic, the effectiveness may decrease, so a new one will need to be chosen.

In addition to the antimicrobial therapy, reducing wet litter, ammonia, and increasing ventilation is suggested. Starting the birds on vitamins, specifically, ones that contain zinc may prove useful, as zinc plays an important role in the bird's immune response to the disease.

If you have a video of the birds sneezing, that may be good to post here.
