Every time I read the threads on here I get a little spooked because at least one person has a horror story about chickens getting sick or injured and then I get all worried... so I'll post my own question and see what response I get!
My chicks are about 5-5 1/2 weeks old (two red rhode island (one is a rooster), one easter egger). They seem perfectly fine in all aspects of their lives except they seem to sneeze a lot. I keep them inside at night still because they aren't fully feathered and let me know very loudly at about 6pm that they are cold being outside (even though I live on Guam). Their indoor tupperware has shredded paper in it, but was using pine shavings until I ran out. Outside they have a chicken tractor (about 32 sq ft) and a coop connected to that which still needs a few fixes to close up drafty gaps and what not. The tractor is on the ground/grass/dirt and the coop has shredded paper in the nesting baskets (but plan to use something like grass clippings??).
Anyway, does any of that sound like a sneezing instigator? It has been extra windy lately but not really "cold" and they seemed to sneeze a lot even when I had them inside 24/7. When they sneeze I can definitely feel moisture fly onto my arms, sometimes my face if I'm lucky... but they aren't snotty and there isn't any obvious discharge or signs of being sick otherwise (good appetite, drinking water, active and playful). Maybe they just sneeze a lot?
PS - I'm a big worrier and generally just need someone to put my mind at ease.
