Hi everyone! My chicks are 2 days old. Since they've started eating I decided to provide them some water. 2 hours later I found out all my chicks (total 7) are either lightly sneezing or scratching their nose. Should I be concerned?
Till now they're running around and eating. Everything seems normal except the sneezing part.

Update: nose scratching has increased

Are they moulting? Sometimes new feathers can be irritating for them and they will scratch. The sneezing could be lose feathers getting in the nose. If their eating and drinking you should be fine. My pullets sneeze and scratch a lot while moulting

Nope they aren't molting 😭

I have this stuff that helps clear chickens throats. It helps with sneezing and coughing. This one is for adult chickens but I’m sure there will be one for chicks!

Seems like the chicks are done with sneezing . Now they are occasionally scratching. Probably because of dust. My question is, should I give them water now after those horrific sneezes? Or should I wait a few days. Thanks in advance

I always provide water to my chicks from day one. I repeatedly dip their beaks in the water to teach them where to find it when they want it. Sneezing could be dust or mold.
Water this is my experience- I read on line to catch rainwater because it was better than tap water for orchids. So that is what I did and I ended up with mushrooms sprouting in the orchid medium. The water must have picked up spores from the roof , gutter or bucket.
the moral of the story is clean you water container and use tap water maybe add a little apple cider vinegar to it .

Always supply water for your chicks they drink a lot and dehydrate quick. What type of bedding are you using? They have very sensitive respiratory systems. Cedar shavings are not a good choice for chicks. If your worried about them being sick you can add garlic and apple cider vinegar to their water too for immunity booster.
