whats it mean if ur chicken is sneezing?

I have 2 BO's. One sneezes all the time and the other shakes her head like she is shaking the bangs out of her eyes

My chickens sneeze eery now and then. Some have gotten runny noses but
none have been lost to disease.

Other posts here have said sneezing is normal. Dust from bedding is probably
the biggest cause.

My Conure has sneezed on me a million times and she never covers her nose,
well nostrils.

Don't worry unless it becomes chronic.

Dave, usually not much. It can be like us when we sneeze, some days I'll sneeze several times and then go for weeks without doing it. Just keep an eye out for the nose getting crusty, then you might have to treat.

Lurky, you might have a problem. Need more info in another post. Like how often, discharges. When does the head shaking occur? Think of everything about them and then post it.

Birds don't shake their heads without a reason. That's why we need to know if something like an unusual noise is happening when the bird shakes its head. If everything is very quiet does it still shake its head? If it doesn't then you know its noise. If its still doing it it could have something else going on.

Don't get me wrong an occassional shake is nothing but for it to be happening enough for you to notice then its more than normal.

Oh, it is more than normal. The feathers kinda feather around her neck like a wave.....so i always figured it felt funny to her. I dont think its from a noise.....i think its her feathers. Why.......is there anything you think i should be looking for that would make her do that?

Wish I could see her to see her when she's doing it. Birds will rapidly shake their heads when they hear a noise they either don't recognize or don't like. If there is a neurologic thing going on, if there is an ear problem, if there are mites. But its the type of shaking that can tell you what is causing it.

I have Silkies, they're poofed everywhere and rarely shake their heads unless a new noise occurs around them. So I doubt its her feathers bothering her.

Does she do any scratching around her head?
