Please can you help me, Ginger is still sick and has been on antibiotics, now she is sneezing but nothing coming out and no discharge. She is still very wobbly but eatng really well and I think she is depressed now because she has been separated for so long. I have put a mirror in with her and she sits at it all day - she is definitely not right don't know what to do.

Good morning and Welcome to Backyard chickens. Just wish it was under better circumstances for you.

I have a few questions to try to better assess the situation.

What breed is Ginger?

How old is she?

What type of antibiotic is she on?

Is she eating and drinking good?

Is her poop normal?

If you took her to the vet, what did the vet diagnose her with?

Apparently the medication she is on is not working., or she has developed new symptoms. She may need to be re-diagnosed.

I know you said she was separated - do you ever get her out and socialize with her?I think it would make a difference if she could look forward to some time with you, since she can't be with other birds yet.

You could put her in a towel and maybe watch tv awhile with her on your lap - it would break up her boring day. You say she is eating really well, is she drinking enough, as well? Are her poos normal looking? Is she warm enough where you keep her.?

I'm glad you joined our "flock!"

I'm sorry Ginger isn't doing well.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Hope Ginger recovers.

Welcome to BYC. So hard when you have a sick one. That happened to me when I brought in a chicken from another flock who has respiratory. I gave antibiotics in water. She got better. Soon sick again... Finally to the vet and he gave her some antibiotic and cleared it up and still hasn't returned. So maybe she needs a different type of antibiotic.

Ginger still sneezing.
Tried everything everybody said. Vet given up says its permanent neuro damage, but Ginger and I still hanging in.

However today I found masses and masses of small scales on her blanket, and also she looks like someone has sprayed her with talcum powder on her comb. Is this something else Imust worry about, doesn't look right got a picture not very good though

Is it serious and will it affect my other guys?
