sneezing chicken

Good morning and Welcome to Backyard chickens. Just wish it was under better circumstances for you.

I have a few questions to try to better assess the situation.

What breed is Ginger?

How old is she?

What type of antibiotic is she on?

Is she eating and drinking good?

Is her poop normal?

If you took her to the vet, what did the vet diagnose her with?
The only other question I would add at this point is have you checked her for mites & lice?

I would error on the side of caution until you have this figured out. It absolutely could be contagious and could weaken or wipe out your flock.

Hi

Thanks for the reply. Since I wrote the last post, she has perked up tremendously and is now in with the others. Still sneezing but not so bad and still wobbly this doesn't seem to bother Henry!!!

None of them have mites or lice and the rest seem fine so I think she is just a weak chicken I am just glad I didn't give up on her I think that I will just have to make sure she doesn't catch cold but so far so good.

Just like to thank you all for the advice couldn't have got through this without you...

When I had a sneezing chicken I ended up taking him to the vet and he gave him a shot of antibiotics which lasted a week and then a second one after that he was fine. He had a respiratory infection.
